First occurrence of the North American white sucker Catostomus commersoni in Great Britain

The first specimen of white sucker Catostomus commersoni encountered in Great Britain is reported: a female of 320 mm s.l. , 710 g wet body weight, estimated age of 3 +, and ripe with eggs (≃21% of the body weight). Isoelectric focusing of a tissue sampSe was also undertaken.
