Strontium marking of hatchery reared coho salmon, Oncorhynchus kisutch Walbaum, identification of adults

Hatchery‐raised coho salmon were marked with stable strontium prior to their release to sea. Returning marked spawners were correctly identified after 18 months at sea by measuring the Strontium (Sr) concentration of the central region of their scales and vertebrae.
