Popularly, theology and mission are understood as the works of words and language. Starting from the perspective of women with intellectual disabilities who experience trauma, this paper proposes an apophatic approach for theology and mission that gives the primacy of nonverbal self‐expression over verbal logocentrism. Such a proposal places vulnerability at the heart of the Christian mission.
