SUMMARY The post‐perfusion syndrome is a well recognized complication of open heart surgery which resolves without sequelae. A case of the post‐perfusion syndrome complicated by the development of mononeuritis multiplex is reported. The pathological lesion was shown to be Wallerian degeneration.
