Summary Chronic lymphatic leukæmia in childhood is a rare condition. A case is reported in which the condition was diagnosed in a child aged two years and eight months, although it had probably been present before this. The pancytopenia improved and a considerable increase in leukæmic lymphocytosis took place after splenectomy. The child remains well on chlorambucil treatment three years after the initial presentation.
