SUMMARY Three cases of cardiac failure are described, in all of which there was strong serological evidence for recent Toxoplasma infection. No other cause for myocardial disease was found. In all cases clinical improvement followed treatment, but evidence of residual cardiac damage persisted. One patient died three years after the initial acute illness, and autopsy findings were consistent with the diagnosis of myocardial toxoplasmosis.
