This descriptive study was conducted to identify factors that affect the general health status of hearing‐impaired children and adolescents aged 6–18. One hundred six hearing‐impaired students were sampled from two primary schools and a high school in Izmir, T urkey. The data were collected utilizing the C hild H ealth Q uestionnaire ( CHQ ). Children and adolescents' physical health mean score and psychological health mean score were M = 47.4 ± 10.2 and M = 49.4 ± 9.5, respectively. Statistically significant differences in health status were found between the categories of age, mother's educational level and economic status of the family. The general health status of children and adolescents was found to be positive.
