The effect of ball‐milling time on dielectric properties of selected ferroelectric–dielectric composites was investigated. A prolonged milling time led an increase in dielectric permittivity and a slight improvement in tunability. However, Q values of the ferroelectric–dielectric composites were deteriorated with extended ball‐milling time, contrary to the general “intuitive belief” that Q values would be improved with better uniformity. The variation in dielectric properties of the ferroelectric–dielectric composites as a function of milling time was well explained in terms of transition in phase distribution mode.
