The light green transparent glaze was prepared by introducing praseodymium oxide as a colorant used in raw glaze. The effect of Pr 6 O 11 on the thermal and color properties of the transparent glaze was investigated by thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis and reflection spectra, respectively. The introduction of Pr 6 O 11 could not form new crystalline phases in the transparent glaze. The glass transition temperature and melting temperature of the transparent glaze decreased with the increasing Pr 6 O 11 , which is due to the high field strength of Pr ion. In addition, the mechanism of color formation in the glaze containing Pr 6 O 11 was also discussed.
