Adenosquamous carcinoma (ASC) is a rare malignant tumor in the head and neck region and usually it occurs as a mucosal carcinoma. The World Health Organization classification 1 shows this tumor as a variation of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), whereas the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) classification 2 categorized it as a salivary gland tumor. In the AFIP guidelines, the occurrence of ASC is limited to the minor salivary glands not in the major salivary glands. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
