Lesbian history has undergone several paradigm shifts in recent decades. Historians draw on the theoretical and methodological approaches taken in other disciplines as part of their interest in remaining accountable to the present‐day community. It also suggests that an intersectional approach can aid in demonstrating the ongoing value of lesbian history to current struggles.
