Female harlequin beetle riding pseudoscorpion ( Cordylochernes scorpioides ) with a brood of birthing nymphs. Pseudoscorpions are viviparous, with the embryos developing in an external brood sac overlying the mother_s genital aperture. After birth, nymphs remain with their mother for 2‐3 days until they are fully sclerotized. Photo reproduced by permission of Jeanne Zeh.
