First records of P ityophthorus solus (Blackman, [Blackman MW, 1928]) ( C oleoptera: C urculionidae: S colytinae) for E urope are reported. Twenty one specimens were obtained unintentionally during surveys for I ps sexdentatus (Boemer, 1767) and for P ityophthorus juglandis B lackman, [Blackman MW, 1928] using multiple funnel traps baited with specific attractants for both species in the B asque C ountry ( N orthern S pain).
