Systematic studies on the P ompilidae occurring in J apan: Genus P latydialepis H aupt ( H ymenoptera: P ompilidae: P epsinae)

Generic characters of P latydialepis   H aupt, 1941 are presented. A new species of the genus, P . amamiensis sp. nov. from the A mami I slands, the R yukyus, J apan, is described, and another species of the genus, P . ryoheii   I shikawa, 1957, distributed in H onshu, S hikoku and K yushu, J apan, is redescribed. Their biological notes are also given. A new combination is proposed: P latydialepis taiwaniana ( T suneki, 1989) (= M alloscelis taiwaniana   T suneki).
