The relationship between social cognition and depression/anxiety in cervical dystonia (CD) is unclear. More than 90% of our patients with CD exhibited normal social perception and social behaviour. Better social perception was associated with worse anxiety, depression and social phobia, whereas worse empathy was seen with worse depression. Greater social perception abilities in CD patients with worse anxiety/depression suggest efficient modulation and adaptation of social cognitive skills.
