Effecting design‐driven social change tends to require changes to the traditional consultancy business model. Funding, clients, and complexity may be significantly different, and the emergence of human‐centered design puts the designer earlier in the process. Integrating social design so that it contributes to bottom‐line success, rather than jeopardizing it, is the key to success. Designers and consultancies who want to practice social design often find that it requires significant changes to their business model. Here are some ideas.
