The cytological aspects of the recently described phenomenon of "squamous cell transformation" of EGFR‐mutant lung adenocarcinoma have not been reported to date. The cytopathologist should be aware of this entity, because the therapy options may differ from "conventional"(secondary)squamous cell carcinoma.
