First report of Sarcina ventriculi in a pyloric and duodenal brushing specimen

This case is the first report of Sarcina ventriculi found on routine endoscopic brushings from the pylorus and duodenum. Cytopathologists should consider mentioning this organism in their report if the patient does not have a known reason for gastric stasis.
