Correlation of clinical, cytomorphology and ancillary test results is essential to maintain high diagnostic accuracy in thyroid fine‐needle aspiration cytology. Immunocytochemical cross reactivity among antibodies (in this case with Pax8 antibody) can lead to a false diagnosis if interpreted in isolation.
