Suspicion of ALK+LBCL should be high whenever lymph node aspirates reveal malignant cells with immunoblast‐like morphology and accompanying amorphous extracellular eosinophilic/ magenta coloured material. The importance of considering all cytological details including important background findings while assessing cytological samples is emphasized in this case report.
