Fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology is an excellent tool in the investigation of salivary gland lesions and knowledge of diagnostic pitfalls in this field provides help to improve its diagnostic accuracy. This letter adds an unrelated source of diagnostic pitfall on salivary gland. A case of parotid sialolithiasis simulating pilomatrixoma on FNA is described.
