Features such as optically dense cytoplasm, endo‐ectoplasmic demarcation, occasional intracytoplasmic vacuoles and round nuclei may make the identification of this rare variant of squamous cell carcinoma difficult to identify and to distinguish from epithelioid mesothelioma.
