This work reports on the synthesis, spectroscopic characterisation and aggregation behaviour of a range of new silicon phthalocyanines with 2‐[3‐(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy], 2‐{2‐[3‐(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]ethoxy}, 2‐(2,3,5,6‐tetrafluorophenoxy) and 2‐[2‐(2,3,5,6‐tetrafluorophenoxy)ethoxy] groups as axial ligands. The new silicon phthalocyanine complexes were characterised, and their aggregation behaviour was investigated. Silicon phthalocyanine complexes were highly soluble in common organic solvents. The effect of solvents on absorption spectra were studied in various organic solvents.
