Oji et al. have reported that a high quotient of cerebrospinal fluid/serum immunoglobulin G might predict unresponsiveness to intravenous methylprednisolone and indicate the need for early introduction of plasmapheresis. The usefulness and problems regarding the quotient of cerebrospinal fluid/serum immunoglobulin G in clinical practice is discussed.
