The presence of dural lymphatic vessels has finally been unveiled. This route supplies not only the conduit to discard unnecessary macromolecules from the interstitial fluid of the brain, but also a novel pathway of mononuclear cell egress into the central nervous system parenchyma without breaking the blood–brain barrier.
