Abstract Two reports published in Nature provided provocative data implicating “salt” as an important exacerbating factor in the development of autoimmune diseases. High‐salt conditions enhanced the differentiation of pathogenic interleukin‐17‐producing helper T cells and accelerated the pathology of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis mice.
