Summary Dermoscopy is widely used in dermatological practice. The method increases the accuracy of basal cell carcinoma ( BCC ) detection. Pigmented and nonpigmented variants of basal cell carcinoma present different dermoscopic features. Specific dermoscopy criteria have been recognized in different subtypes of BCC . Differentiation of superficial BCC from other subtypes is the most important issue, as it may determine further management decisions.
