Key Messages Physical geographers are focusing on urban areas through the expanding field of urban climatology. Physical geographers in Canada have a long legacy of urban climate studies, one which is evident world‐wide. Urban climatologists and affiliated organizations study urban place and contexts by definition and have also turned towards creating tools to span scales from global to local.
