Key Messages This article provides a review of faculty demographics in geography departments at Canadian universities. Due to the complexity of racial identities, a number of challenges were encountered when working with equity data pertaining to faculty at these universities. The lack of adequate information on faculty demographics in Canadian geography departments suggests a need for alternative methods when compiling equity data.
