Abstract Inactivation of the Kin1 protein kinase in calcineurin deficient cells inhibits contractile ring disassembly and leads to the formation of polysepta in fission yeast (Green: contractile ring structures revealed by the myosin light chain Rlc1‐GFP; Blue: septum structures stained by methyl blue dye).
