During my teenage years, I remember smoking being ‘cool’ and fashionable amongst the young. This misconception was largely driven by Hollywood, Bollywood and the rock ‘n’ roll belief that a cigarette dangling casually from your lips somehow made you look more attractive. Perhaps it did, but the deleterious effects within the body took many years to manifest and many lives were lost as a result, often unnecessarily.
