‘Leave’ is an attempt to find a creative catharsis for confusion and melancholia engendered by the Brexit vote in 2016. The poem is from the first person perspective of a leave voter, an effort to understand the ‘other’. ‘A poem for Grenfell Tower’ is an outpouring of emotion free‐written from a place of rage and despair on the day after the horrific fire in 2017.
