Summary Probably a useful text for student teachers, this is readable, detailed, and strong in its coverage of supportive reflection and the assembling of self‐assessed claims. Student engagement in formulating criteria and standards receives scant attention, though, as does the impact of self‐assessment on the quality of learning. The book is to read rather than to buy, therefore. Even then, if the content of this book is likely to be relevant to you, I advise that you will probably find only parts of it of interest or use.
