DEAR EDITOR, A 59-year-old man presented with a painful, sharply demarcated rectangular erythematous patch on his right back and axillary area of 1 week’s duration (a, b). He had a history of myocardial infarction and had undergone a percutaneous coronary intervention 5 weeks previously. The procedure was performed under fluoroscopy and lasted approximately 3 h. A diagnosis of fluoroscopy-induced acute radiation dermatitis was made. The skin lesion subsequently became chronic, with ulceration and sclerosis. The delayed onset of radiation dermatitis after radiation exposure (usually 3 weeks–3 months) is characteristic of patients who undergo prolonged fluoroscopy procedures. T . -H. HUANG S .C . -S .
