In this end piece, I comment on and connect the six preceding substantive articles about inequality in the years of austerity following the financial crisis and link their arguments to my own work on youth. I argue that the long decades of deindustrialisation and the more recent post‐crisis austerity climate may be reshaping the old sexual/gender contract that defined the F ordist era.
