Aim To review the outcome of preterm neonates treated with iNO . Methods The neonatal electronic database was reviewed between April 1, 2009 and March 31, 2014. Results In the five‐year period, 142 babies were treated with iNO . Forty‐two preterm neonates <34 +0 weeks were included in this review. During this period, the use of iNO in preterm neonates <26 +0 weeks rose from 1.4% to 4.8% and the mortality was significantly higher in this group (69%). Conclusion There is an increasing trend in using iNO as a rescue treatment in preterm neonates. The outcomes were very poor in the preterm neonates <26 +0 weeks. A cautious approach is warranted in the absence of robust evidence to support the use of iNO , in preterm neonates <26 +0 weeks.
