On the Cover: In transplantation we typically focus on T and B cells, but many other cells are relevant to allograft function and survival. This month, we highlight those other cells, including myeloid, dendritic, mast, and apoptotic cells. Llaudo et al ( page 633) demonstrate the role of myeloid cells in cardiac allografts, and Watson et al ( page 646) explore the relationship of dendritic cells to rejection in their article. Li et al ( page 662) uncover new insights in the role of mast cells in promoting immunity. Finally, transplantation tolerance induced by donor apoptotic cells, and the role MerTK plays, is presented in an article by Zhang et al ( page 674).
