In the context of ever‐growing need for additional kidneys for transplantation and the encouraging results published by Ohashi et al (page 2342) regarding use of kidneys from living donors with metabolic syndrome, the author calls for cautious selection, follow‐up and incessant counseling for healthy lifestyle in such donors both before and after donation.
