Problem Peach gum polysaccharides ( PGP s) exhibit antioxidant and antibacterial activities. Nevertheless, the effect of PGP s on the spermatogenesis of KKA y mice with impaired reproduction system remains undetermined. Method of study PGP s were extracted with hot water. KKA y mice were randomly divided into two groups, namely, control and PGP s (treated with 100 mg/kg PGP s). Results Oral administration of PGP s decreased the levels of serum triglyceride, total cholesterol, low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, fasting blood glucose, plasma insulin, and nitrate nitrogen level in the testes of KKA y mice. Moreover, treatment with PGP s increased the sperm density, sperm movement, rate of normal sperm morphology, protein expression level, and superoxide dismutase activity. Conclusion PGP s can effectively protect the spermatogenesis of KKA y mice with impaired reproduction system.
