The fauna of south‐east B razilian mountains was sampled and revealed two new species of F rieseinae, F riesea curupira sp. nov. and F riesea boitata sp. nov. The first is an unpigmented species with 1 + 1 eye, no furca and two anal spines. The second species is very similar to F . reducta Denis, 1931. Comments are made about a complex of species that also share many similarities within the ‘ reducta group’. Remarks are made on tegumentar protuberances of subcoxae 1 of legs of Frieseinae.
