During ongoing archaeological fieldwork on Soqotra, Yemen, by the Soqotra Heritage Project, a poorly recorded rock art site on the north coast of the island was identified and documented. A systematic survey of this rock art site has revealed an extensive corpus of 187 rock art motifs that include feet, cupules, a ship, various geometric patterns, and cruciform shapes that bear striking similarities to motifs found in other rock art sites throughout the island. This site is now known to be the second largest petroglyph site found on Soqotra. Unfortunately, the entire site is currently under imminent threat from development.
