Western Tianshan orogenic belt is a late Paleozoic composite orogenic belt and an important part of the Central Asian metallogenic domain, which experienced a complicated deformation, and several period of subduction, collision and continental superimposed orogeny (Windley et al., 1990; Allen et al., 1992; Xiao et al., 2009). Zhibo iron ore deposit is located in the eastern section of the Awulale metallogenic belt, and tectonic location belongs to the Yili Carboniferous-Permian rift. The region exposes Proterozoic, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, Triassic, Jurassic and Quaternary in ascending order. Among them the Carboniferous Dahalajunshan Formation is dominant.
