The previous comprehensive studies indicate organic matter and microorganism have played an important even critical role in the formation of sandstone-hosted interlayer oxidation type uranium deposits in Xinjiang, NW China (e.g. Lovley et al., 1991; Zhao et al., 1998; Min et al., 2005; Geng et al., 2005). In this paper, the author focus on introducing four molecular techniques through comparison and analysis of their suitability in interlayer oxidation type sandstone uranium deposit.
