The Shangcheng gold deposit is a magmatic hydrothermal type gold deposit controlled by fractures, which is located in the northern Zhangbaling tectonic belt (Wang et al,2007). The Zhangbaling tectonic belt is the secondary tectonic unit of the Dabie-Sulu orogenic belt (Huang et al, 2000;Xu,1987;Chen et al, 2000),where the regional metamorphic rocks are extensive, and the Yanshanian magmatic rocks are developed. So far Shangcheng, Tonggoucheng, Xiaomiaoshan, Guodawa, Longwangjian, Fanshuiwa, etc. gold deposits (or occurrences) have been discovered, but their scale are all small. This article is based on the geological observations of the outcrop and III orebody in tennels at the shangcheng gold deposit. Combining with regional and mining area geological background analysis,we systematically the geological characteristics, and then discussced the genesis of the Shangcheng deposit which might belong to the medium-low temperature magmatic hydrothermal deposits. Finally, we summarized the structure regularity in ore forming.Synthesis the above research, we made a metallogenic prediction on the periphery and deep of the Shangcheng gold deposit.
