Static and Dynamic Elastic Property of Lonamaxi Shale in the West of Hunan Province and Its Implication

As an important unconventional hydrocarbon resource, shale gas has been paid more attention. Elastic property of shale is useful for seismic profile explaining, brittleness estimation, completion and hydro production design (Arjun et al., 2013). For the reason of different mineral components, shale samples from different reservoir or different layers in the same reservoir have different elastic property generally (Hornby et al., 1994; Joshi et al., 2012), it is thus necessary to study elastic property of shale, especially in complicated structure region.
