Six new and two newly recorded species of C hironomidae ( I nsecta: D iptera) in K orea

Adult chironomids were collected by light trap operations, sweeping grasses with insect nets, and aspiration of light‐attracted adults at various localities. All collected specimens were slide‐mounted and identified. Six species new to science were found and named: R heotanytarsus pseudopentapoda n. sp., C ricotopus byeonsanensis n. sp., C ricotopus parajogantertius n. sp., L imnophyes bukhandecimus n. sp., L imnophyes simensis n. sp. and O rthocladius jeongnungensis . Two species, A inuyusuroka tuberculatum ( T okunaga) and P seudosmittia nishiharaensis   S asa and H asegawa, are found for the first time in K orea. All species are fully described with illustrations. This is the first report of the genus A inugusurika in K orea.
