A systematic review of the literature found that pre‐hospital providers have mild concordance with triage nurses and actual outcomes when predicting triage score, streaming destination, clinical course, treatment requirements and disposition from ED upon arrival. This represents an area of potential expansion in the role of pre‐hospital providers to assist improved streaming of patients on arrival, with potential to improve patient outcomes and experience.
