Based on his two‐year field study of 360 new product managers in 52 high technology companies, Hans Thamhain reports on the characteristics of innovative product teams. He identifies both drivers and barriers to innovative performance. Further, he presents a simple input‐output framework for organizing and analyzing the variables that influence team performance, and provides specific guidelines to help new products managers become more effective.
