Based on the available monthly data, the eurozone economy continued to expand at a steady, albeit weak, pace at the end of 2019. The composite PMI rose to a four‐month high in December, boosted by stronger activity in services. That said, its Q4 average was still below the Q3 level, suggesting that GDP growth will have remained moderate in the final quarter of last year.
