Real GDP grew by 4.2% on an annualised basis in Q2, its strongest performance since Q3 2014. Final sales rose 5.4%, while inventories subtracted 1.1 ppt from GDP growth. Rebounding consumer spending, another strong advance in business investment and a large contribution from net trade drove the solid quarterly gain. GDP growth rose to 2.9% y/y – the fastest pace since mid‐2015.
